Core ConceptsSponsored Transactions

Sponsored Transactions

One of the most significant barriers for new users in DeFi is the need to hold a network’s native token (like ETH on Ethereum) to pay for gas fees. DuckyDux solves this problem with Sponsored Transactions.

The “No ETH” Problem

Even if you have a wallet full of valuable tokens like USDC or WBTC, you can’t perform any action on the Ethereum network—including selling those tokens—without ETH to pay for the transaction fee. This often forces users to go through a centralized exchange to buy ETH and send it to their wallet, adding friction and complexity to the trading process.

The DuckyDux Solution: Pay Gas With Any Token

DuckyDux eliminates this barrier by offering to sponsor your transaction fees.

Here’s how it works:

  1. You Initiate a Swap: You decide to swap a token, but you don’t have any ETH for gas.
  2. We Pay the Gas Fee: DuckyDux pays the required ETH gas fee on your behalf to get your transaction included in the blockchain.
  3. You Repay from the Swap: The cost of the gas is automatically deducted from the input or output tokens of your swap and used to repay the platform.

This entire process—sponsorship, your swap, and repayment—is executed within a single, atomic transaction bundle. This means it either all succeeds together, or none of it does, making the process completely risk-free for both you and the platform.

How It Benefits You

  • Trade with Zero ETH: You no longer need to maintain an ETH balance just for gas fees. You can start trading as long as you hold any supported token.
  • Ultimate Convenience: Avoid the hassle of funding your wallet with ETH from external sources.
  • Seamless Onboarding: New users can get started with DeFi trading more easily than ever before.

Technical Insight: This feature is powered by our on-chain gas sponsoring contract and a network of trusted relayers. A relayer pre-funds your transaction with the necessary ETH, and the smart contract ensures they are atomically repaid from your swap’s proceeds within the same transaction bundle. This design guarantees that the sponsorship is secure and trustless.
